Márcio Lopes is part of a new generation of Portuguese winemakers redefining the country's wine landscape through innovation, exploration, and a deep respect for native grapes. Trained as an enologist, he gained experience across Portugal, Spain, and Australia before launching his own label in 2010. Rather than focusing on a single estate, Lopes seeks out exceptional vineyard sites throughout northern Portugal, partnering with small growers who cultivate old vines on granitic and schist soils. His projects, including Pequeños Rebentos ("Little Sprouts"), highlight forgotten vineyards and lesser-known expressions of Vinho Verde. Known for meticulous vineyard work and restrained cellar practices, he emphasizes freshness, minerality, and transparency of terroir. Márcio is particularly passionate about preserving Portugal's viticultural heritage, crafting wines from indigenous varieties that balance precision with personality, earning recognition as one of Portugal's most influential contemporary winemakers.
Tasting Notes: Delicate yet vibrant, with lively highlights. Aromas of cherry, wild plum, and subtle minerality lead to tart red fruit, saline notes, zippy acidity, and delicate bubbles. Dry and refreshing. Pair with grilled shrimp, charcuterie, salmon, or Mediterranean salads.

Fermentations are carried out with native yeasts and little to no added sulfur, allowing each wine to express its vineyard origins with authenticity and energy.
