2024 Succés Vinícola Conca de Barberà Trepat Patxanga Rosé
• Catalonia, Spain
• 100% Trepat
• Organic
Albert Canela and Mariona Vendrell founded Succés Vinícola at just 20, driven by a desire to honor their families’ vineyards and support local growers through fair pay and organic practices. Their wines reflect their vibrant spirit—approachable, expressive, and crafted with respect for land and community. Most grapes come from Albert’s family vineyards, farmed by the pair, with small amounts sourced from nearby villages. They release new vintages in early spring, allowing wines to settle naturally over winter without fining or additives; since 2019, all cuvées are made without added SO₂. Established in 2011 through an incubator in Barberà de la Conca, they later moved to their own cellar in Pira. “Succés,” meaning “event” in Catalan, inspires each wine’s name, capturing moments and emotions from their journey in Conca de Barberà’s high-altitude, clay-limestone vineyards.
Tasting Notes: Fresh and lively, this Trepat rosé shows wild strawberry, watermelon, and citrus zest with a crisp, mineral finish. Light and refreshing. Pair with grilled shrimp, Mediterranean salads, charcuterie, or spicy Asian dishes for contrast.
2024 Celler Frisach Terra Alta L'Abrunet Blanc
• Catalonia, Spain
• 100% Garnacha Blanca
• Organic
Celler Frisach is a family-run winery rooted in Terra Alta, where brothers Francesc and Joan Ferré carry forward generations of viticultural heritage. Committed to organic farming and minimal intervention, they champion native varieties like Garnacha Blanca and Garnacha Tinta, expressing the region’s warm climate and limestone-rich soils. Their vineyards, many planted by their grandfather, are worked by hand with deep respect for biodiversity and tradition. In the cellar, fermentation relies on native yeasts, with little to no additives, allowing each wine to reflect its origin with clarity and authenticity. Celler Frisach’s style balances rustic character with freshness and precision. Their wines capture both the strength of the landscape and the family’s passion, offering honest, vibrant expressions of Terra Alta that connect past and present.
Tasting Notes: Bright and textured, showing citrus, pear, and tropical fruit with mineral freshness. Pair with grilled fish, shellfish, creamy rice dishes, or roasted vegetables with herbs.
2024 Ramón Jané A La Borina Sparkling Skin Contact
• Penedès, Spain
• Malvasia, Garnaxta Blanca, Macabeo and Moscatel
• Organic & Biodynamic
Mas Candí is a collective of four young farmers trained in viticulture and oenology, united by a commitment to revive their grandparents’ vineyards and craft honest, expressive wines. Based in Les Gunyoles d’Avinyonet, at the edge of Garraf Natural Park, their roots trace back to the 16th century, when the Cuscó family first farmed these lands. Today, nearly all production comes from their own organically tended vines. Their sparkling wine blends Malvasia, Garnatxa Blanca, Macabeo, and Moscatel, harvested by hand and macerated on skins for two weeks. Fermentation occurs with native yeasts in stainless steel, with a touch of Parellada juice added before bottling to trigger a second fermentation. Made without fining, filtration, or added sulphur, their wines reflect purity, heritage, and a deep respect for place.
Tasting Notes: Lively and aromatic, with orange peel, apricot, and floral notes over gentle bubbles and a savory edge. Fresh yet textured. Pair with tapas, fried seafood, spiced dishes, or soft cheeses.
2024 Vin Nus Montsant Jus De Rouge
• Catalonia, Spain
• Grenache Noir, Grenache Gris
• Organic
Vins Nus, created by Alfredo Arribas, is a distinct project exploring the northern reaches of Priorat and Montsant. Conceived as a counterpoint to his main range, these wines embrace subtraction over addition: no added sulphites, minimal oak, lighter extraction, and lower alcohol and color, yet still grounded in a clear Priorat identity. Arribas balances precision with experimentation, approaching winemaking as both craft and creative expression. His deep curiosity about terroir drives a continual exploration of sites and styles, reflected in two families: SiurAlta, focused on high-altitude, nearly monovarietal wines, and InStabiles, which embrace shifting origins and freer compositions. Produced in small quantities of 1,000 to 3,000 bottles per cuvée, these wines capture an ancestral spirit while aligning with modern gastronomy. Vins Nus—“naked wines”—offer purity, tension, and a thoughtful dialogue between tradition and innovation.
Tasting Notes: Juicy and vibrant, showing red cherry, raspberry, and herbal notes with light tannins and fresh acidity. Chill and pair with grilled vegetables, roast chicken, charcuterie, or simple pasta dishes.
