Kristie Tacey, founder and winemaker of Tessier Winery, blends her scientific background with creative passion. Originally from Michigan, Kristie started as a research scientist working on projects like the Human Genome Project before discovering her true calling in wine.

After moving to the San Francisco Bay Area, she built a career in biotech, then shifted to hands-on winemaking as an operations manager and assistant winemaker at an East Bay winery. In 2009, she launched Tessier Winery to focus on small-batch, hand-crafted wines that balance scientific precision with artistic intuition.

In the cellar, Kristie embraces native fermentations and minimal intervention, allowing vineyard expression to shine. She partners with organically farmed, family-owned vineyards across California, selecting sites that best showcase the varietals she loves. Through Tessier, Kristie crafts wines that are thoughtful, expressive, and deeply rooted in the land.
