2023 Hollow Wines Pleasure Point Sparkling Rosé

• Monterey County, CA
• 100% Pinot Noir
• Organic

Hollow Wines is a spirited natural-wine label crafted by Woodson “Quinn” Hobbs, who champions a minimalist, planet-first approach in California’s vibrant natural-wine scene. Raised in Portola Valley, now based in L.A., Quinn makes all his wines in Gilroy, meticulously sourcing organic, sustainably-farmed fruit from across the state—explicitly rejecting vineyards that use glyphosate Embracing a “No B.S.” philosophy, he ferments with wild yeasts, uses minimal additives (only a touch of sulfur when necessary), and keeps intervention to a minimum to let terroir shine. Quinn’s operation is a family affair: his wife Alison and their daughter Mina share in the vision, with Alison bringing her own Australian roots into the creative mix. Across a growing portfolio of eclectic varietals, Hollow Wines captures a playful yet rigorous commitment to authenticity, sustainability, and lively expression.

Tasting Notes: Pale and refreshing this sparkling rosé embodies Quinn’s “planet-first” philosophy—light, vibrant, and organically crafted, it delivers gentle bubbles and expressive fruit in a playful, minimal-intervention style that honors terroir and natural purity. Perfect alongside oysters, fresh strawberries, or a summer picnic spread with soft cheeses and charcuterie.

2024 Bojo do Luar, Vinho Branco, Doralice Orange

• Vinho Verde, Portugal
• 100% Loreiro
• Organic

Bojo do Luar is a boundary-pushing natural wine project in Portugal’s Vinho Verde region, founded through the collaboration of importer Savio Soares and biodynamic winemaker Antonio Sousa. Situated near the Tâmega River on granitic soils, the estate is dedicated to low-intervention practices, fermenting with native yeasts and working with little to no added sulfur. A distinctive hallmark is the use of ground chestnut flowers during fermentation, a traditional stabilizer that enhances purity and expression. The winery focuses on indigenous grape varieties—Loureiro, Azal, Vinhão, Bastardo, Espadeiro, and Borraçal—crafted into energetic, authentic wines that speak of place. Among them, Doralice Orange 2024 stands out: a 100% Loureiro fermented on its skins for eight weeks in a mix of concrete and stainless steel. The wine embodies Bojo do Luar’s philosophy—rooted in tradition, innovation, and unfiltered regional character

Tasting Notes: Bright, textural, and juicy this shows citrus peel, stone fruit, and herbal lift with gentle tannins and crisp acidity. Pair with grilled sardines, roasted vegetables, or Mediterranean mezze for a lively, balanced match.

2023 Mr. Brightside Gamay Blanc

• Arroyo Seco, California
• 100% Gamay Noir, Blanc
• Organic

Founded in 2020 by Tim Fulnecky, Mr. Brightside Wines brings a fresh, focused vision to California’s Central Coast. Since his first wine release under this label in 2020, Tim has produced exclusively Gamay Noir—over 15 distinct wines to date—sourced solely from vineyards across the region. His journey began in 2015 as a cellar hand, and by 2016, encouraged by his mentor, Tim embarked on crafting his own wines. As proprietor and winemaker, he is celebrated for minimal-intervention techniques and sustainability—much of his fruit hails from organically or sustainably farmed sites throughout the Central Coast. Influenced by the playful elegance of Beaujolais yet rooted in Californian terroir, Tim’s wines are both expressive and authentic, balancing fun and finesse under the singular Mr. Brightside banner.

Tasting Notes: Lively and refreshing, this rare white expression of Gamay Noir bursts with white peach, lemon blossom, green apple, and saline minerality. Dry, fruit-forward, and playful, it pairs seamlessly with sushi, grilled shrimp, goat cheese salad, or lemon roast chicken.

2024 Yves Duport Céline Chillable Red

• Bugey, France
• 40% Chardonnay, 40% Gamay, 20% Mondeuse
• Organic/Biodynamic

Yves Duport is a fourth-generation winemaker carrying forward his family’s legacy in Bugey, a mountainous corner of eastern France between the Jura and Savoie. Since taking over the domaine in 2007, Yves has transitioned the estate’s 10 hectares to organic and biodynamic farming, convinced that living soils are key to authentic wines. He carefully matches each of Bugey’s diverse terroirs—marl, limestone scree, and silica-clay—with the grapes best suited to them: Altesse, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Mondeuse. In the cellar, his philosophy is minimalist, using native yeasts, gentle handling, and restrained sulfites to preserve purity and balance. Roughly half the production is still white wines, with the remainder split between sparkling Bugey made in the traditional method and soulful reds. Yves brings a thoughtful, hands-on approach, crafting wines that reflect both his deep heritage and a modern commitment to sustainability.

Tasting Notes: Light and glou glou style with juicy tart cherry and rose petal aromas lead to a palate with plum-like tannins, spice, and hints of pink peppercorn.  Finishing crisp, refreshing, and delightfully balanced this one pairs well with roasted chicken, cheese board and grilled sausage.
